2nd handyman interview..he was late, I almost gave up on him showing up but he finally did (normally I don't care if people are late, I usually am but I had the flu and was sleeping between appts, I was annoyed that I had to get up only to wait). He knew what a pocket door was and he could see the problem I was having with the unfinished shower tile install and he laughed about the strange exhaust vent in my kitchen - its horrible, the vent is nowhere near the actual stove, its easier to just open the window when I cook, he checked out the fence and even mentioned something I didn't realize might be a problem and came up with a cool solution for lights in the hallway..but oh my, the list goes on and on. He said he'd send me a bid for all the items we discussed and something tells me it might be expensive...I'm rethinking my plans.. I should definetly do the things I can do without hiring a handyman..like fixing the fence, its not that hard, I can do it. Some major structural things - if his bid is ok, he can do it. The tiling in the bathroom - maybe depends on his bid. Cutting a hole in my roof to fix the exhaust vent in the kitchen - yep, they can do it - one I don't have the tools and two I don't wanna. I guess I wait for the bid and then see what to do first..cheapest thing first..hmmm and the fence, I'll fix.
