the last few days, where have I been..busy, very busy. I sent a birthday card to two different friends, same birthday card however when I found this card, I was thinking of D and thought he'd probably love it. Then I thought, J might in general like it too since I forgot his birthday, I sent it to him.
D is a friend and he's married and his wife is my friend too and the card was innocent fun - he got it.
J on the other hand, read something more into it I think and it was just a humorous fun birthday card and as we were talking the next day, he kept asking me to come to Oregon for few days. Yea, maybe someday but not right now. I have property taxes due in April and 5 different big projects going on along with my current clients and I don't care if there is internet access there or not, I can't come right now. I'd love to take a few days off but I can't. He said imagine yourself wrapped in warm blanket with a good book while someone made you dinner. First thought, why would I want to go somewhere cold? Leave the cold in CA and go someplace cold..hmm, not ideal. And second thought, I was wrapped in warm blanket the night before reading a good book. Then I told him I had property taxes due, his comment, you can take a few days off, you'll make it up in May - WTF? The taxes are due in April, I have to make the $$ now, not sometime in May. And if I could just take off and go somewhere, I'm thinking Hawaii, warm beach, exotic drinks. I was seriously annoyed with the comment about you'll make it up in May. My friend asked me today, if he wanted to see me so bad, why doesn't he come here? Good question.
