Ever since the Tablet PC came out last fall, there have been rumors that Apple would try and one-up the PC world and come out with its own tablet-style computer, and now TaiwanHighTech.com is reporting that Apple has contracted Quanta to build a 15-inch tablet computer. Given how many graphic designers and other creative-types gravitate towards Macs, a Tablet Mac seems like a natural fit for Apple. And the unexpectedly high sales of the Tablet PC probably hasn't escaped their attention either.

Tokyo - Japanese computer giant NEC Corporation revealed on Monday a prototype of a laptop computer that runs on a methanol fuel cell instead of a rechargeable battery, and said it will start selling it next year.
A number of other companies are developing similar fuel cells, which promise to power electronics ten times longer than the lithium-ion batteries currently in use.

According to a new report by Gartner, WLANs, wireless LANs, will not be a big success for at least another three to five years.
Gartner predicts that there will be 71,079 WLAN 'hot spots' available this year, a rather dramatic rise from the 14,752 hot spots in 2002. The report also claims that there will be up to 9.3 million visitors to hot spots this year, up again from the meagre 2.5 million in 2002. North America will, apparently, have the most wi-fi users with 4.3 million predicted hot spot visitors.
