Went the the opening of the movie Luther last night - and it was incredibly interesting, intriguing, and enlightening to me.
- Interesting in the fact that I am a history fan - so I loved the historically accurate portrayal of Martin Luther's part in the Protestant Reformation.
- Intriguing in the fact that the movie truly showed how one's beliefs and the courage to stand for those beliefs can really make a difference in the world.
- Enlightening in the fact that I can identify with Luther's challenge of balancing the "God as only as a harsh judge" vs. God as a loving father" mentality. One can learn much from Luther and follow his example of striving to not let fear of God drive one's actions, but to let love of God drive one's actions.
This is a movie that should be interesting for all audiences - regardless of their religious persuasion - or lack thereof.
