Who Are Our Gods?

Who Are Our Gods?

This week's Memory Challenge reminds us that we are to live our lives totally dedicated to God.
  • Exodus 20:3 -  You shall have no other gods before me.  (Ten Commandments - Exodus 20
Prayer:  Dear Lord, please help us as we seek to follow you, the true God, the only God worthy of our devotion, to keep our eyes on you.  Help us to be aware of and not swayed by the "gods of this world" that are very easily identifiable to us as they overtly* cause us to take our eyes away from you.   Help us also to be aware of and not swayed by the "gods of this world" that are not so easily identifiable to us as they covertly** cause us to take our eyes off of you.   We truly thank you for being our God and ask you to please help us to honor your position by the presenting of our life to you today, and for the rest of our days.  Amen.

*Overtly - Things that appear to be in direct conflict with God as the number one priority in our life.
**Covertly - Things that appear to be good - but based on wrong motive and/or priority are in conflict with our obedience to God - hence are in conflict with God as number one priority in our life.
