The Journey To Bethlehem The Journey To Bethlehem Over 2,000 years ago the shepherds heard a message of hope - that hope being the birth of a Savior and Lord - and their response was to begin a journey to Bethlehem to find The Christ. - Luke 2:14-16: Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.
As Christians today, we also hear a message of hope - that hope being Jesus Christ and the provision of eternal salvation. Let our response be like the response of the shepherds - one of determined action manifested by our following and obeying The Christ in our daily lives with our primary purpose in life being to know God and seeking to please Him. - Hebrews 5:9: And being made perfect, He became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him.
For if we are to truly experience the gift God provided us through His Son Jesus Christ, the reason for the Christmas Season, we need to follow Him and obey Him with all of our heart, all of our soul, and all of our mind. Merry CHRISTmas!
