Poison Control Centers Closing Due to Budget Cuts

At a time when homeland security continues to grow in importance, it is essential for the first responders in the field have reliable support for whatever situation they may encounter. Chances are, if it is a terrorist action, it will involve exposure to toxins that which will require prompt and appropriate attention.

It's disturbing to read about the Oregon Poison Control Center losing its funding. This PCC serves Oregon, Alaska and a major part of Nevada. The Pennsylvania PCC has also been shut down, and the Louisiana PCC had to shut down for a time before funding resumed.
