Australian Weblogs

Well, go a looking and you shall find, here's some Aussie weblogs I've dug up:

Australian Weblogs seems like a cool find, kind a weblogs.com for Australia
Melbourne Weblogs looks kinda quiet, but could be hibernating
2004 Australian Blog Winners from Keks
The Spin Starts Here Darl is a good larf
Eatonweb list of Australian Blogs is, um, a big list
another big list
PhD Weblogs has 5 Australian Educational Blogs

But finding a decent list of education weblogs in Australia... now that'd be good. Guess I could start a list, drop us a comment with yours or ones you know.

Hey, check out where I just got a referrer from.... Aussie Blogs... too cool!

Which seems to have landed on reinvigorate (such a cool tracking system btw) just at the right time as here I am thinking

ooOO
Such a shame that I can't go to any blogtalk, bloggercon or bloggy get togethers in Europe or the States... doesn't seem to be anything like that down here... wonder how I could find out who's blogging downunder... and see if they'd like to get together and do something like Sebastian et al are doing...

So, something is telling me this is a good idea. The universe is conspiring :o) I reckon I could probably dig up some space at Deakin (here he takes a huge gamble) to host this kind of thing, could certainly do some organizing, set up a weblog etc. and would be more than happy to facilitate... any takers / thoughts?

Joe of EduResources posts a presenattion on Academic Weblogging

"The demonstration will show the abc's of blogging and the first steps for using news readers. I will be pointing the participants to resources that they can try for themselves to explore the usefulness of weblogging and news aggregation for scholarship."

Wonderful! Via OLU [and here's me trying to check their trackback too!] comes a story about an assoc. professor using his blog to complain about the University Hierarchy! Outstanding!

Now, after this has resolved itself well, the value of open discussion and expression has been acknowledged and the world has said 'well, I'm glad he was able to say that' the *fear* which seems to surround the provision on blogging tools can be broken!

Shame the article didn't give any links to the blog in question though... here it is, and here's the post in question... keep it going Michael!
