Sunrise, Amy, and babies to be born Yesterday the channel was a play of light. The sun, wind, and clouds built a set, cast characters on the sea. So this morning, I watched the sun rise.
Above, clouds quilt a dark blue and grey blanket. Below, fire spills a mimosa on the table. I am humble, again. A rising sun is color, beauty irreducible.
Off the rocks, down the walk, back to 'the bridge'. (Ok, it's really just a porch. It's winter. My boats are in the yard. Bah! Humbug!) Up the stairs, down the hall, back to the bedroom. Amy sleeps. I watch her breathing, beauty irreducible.
On Christmas eve, I lit a candle for Kevin. Sent him thanks in an email. He responded, likewise. But this morning, I think about babies to be born. And life and being, beauty irreducible.
