At the National Retail Federation (NRF) show in mid-January, Microsoft announced a new RFID initiative aimed mainly at manufacturers.  Ann Bednarz in Network World notes that Microsoft is aiming at mid-size companies unlike other technology vendors who are aiming at the largest manufacturers.  Microsoft is adding capabilities to their Axapta and Navision supply chain products.
