People I met at BloggerCon. Dave Winer right off the bat: told him he'd been on my radar ever since ThinkTank 128. I'm one of those Outliners Make Instant Sense people. Dave Slusher--told him I liked his emphasis on heart over production values. That his heart comes through loud and clear. Steve Gillmor: that I'd heard Gillmor Gang 11-5 the night before the conference and found it moving: that my experience was in accord with his: the direct voices made a very profound experience. Adam Curry: I had to say hi, since he's been my glamor boy since the whole thing began. Still got stars in my eyes (and I didn't ever watch MTV--never heard of him back then). Doc Searles: told him I remembered his post on being a Quaker--he started to tell me about all his Quaker in-laws. Unfortunately we got kicked out of the room at that point. It was over. Rebecca McKinnon: wish I'd had more time to talk with her, but she was at the dinner I went to with Ed Cone. Found out a little about Berkman and JFK. Ni hwei shwo Junggwo hwa ma? Hwei. Didn't even know that angle. Ed Cone: I thought the dinner might be a bit hard-core after being at the Elections session, but in fact it was relaxed and fun. I was a little disappointed that Jay Rosen who was going to be the co-host was recruited to fill in for Scott Rosenberg who couldn't make it. Mike Geoghegen. Had lunch with him, along with FlutterBy. Also at dinner: ______ of Stupidsimple, which turns out to be a pretty good blog. So, I met almost everyone there who I've been a fan of, and that was incredibly rewarding--I'm not sure why. It goes beyond fandom--I think I see the possibility of playing in the same game. Robert Scoble: didn't introduce myself because I didn't have a connection, and yet as I wrote below, I had quite a reaction to his saying he reads everyone's blog who mentions Bloggercon--perhaps my first reader. (Not fair to Ruth Anne: I know you read it at least once!)

Ok, I'm definitely going back and forth on this: interesting to read, brings readers back, versus jot down anything, make it a diary, without concern for audience. At this stage it's academic, but later the hope is that more writing will result in improved writing, vs. trying to make each post a gem now that results in low posting.

So, I'm determined to just get things down, in hopes that I'll value the record, if nothing else. E.g. this is the week we got Bill's and Christian's tv, which they sloughed off in their move south. Apparently they offered themselves a flat panel for their new smaller place.

Memorializing events, life-changing or not, Bill and Christian gave us their tv last week (I suppose we'll never forget when since we picked it up the night of the election, going in from our sanguine car to the gloomy house). Without a remote, we have yet to be able to change its fixed channels so we can watch anything except dvds, so the old tv is out on the floor in front of it. Like junk cars in the yard.

Also called to say we're coming up for Thanksgiving. The whole week, since there was no summer vacation. Drive not fly. Part of the relaxation.

Haven't seen Stephen in weeks.

PS: saw him Sunday night finally.
