"You can't break the cycle of poverty; you can't break the cycle of violence; you can't break the cycle of corporate expansion; you can't break the cycle of the arms race; you can't break the cycle of imprisonment, if you don't break the cycle by which radicals are isolated, idealists are turned into pragmatists, and pragmatists into opportunists"

I know how to link in a Radio outline to an external opml file; what I want to know is how to embed a file on my own hard drive. I've tried a link to the opml file in the gems folder, and to the served html file--so far without success.

The previous was an example of something I wasn't satisfied with--too much word repetition, e.g.--but in the end I wanted it in the flow rather than perfected; I can work on it later if I want. Too much self-censorship is not what I need.

I remember when my father came home with his first tape recorder. It was in the mid '50's, and what appeared in our living room was a beige box the size of a small tv, with rounded corners and a lid like a suitcase. I think it was a Honeywell. For a couple of years until my grandfather died, we would exchange reel-to-reel tapes, our father sitting us down to record his letter to his father, and his children's voices so our grandfather could hear us; he was blind. I remember hearing our voices and finding very funny. I also remember my father remarking on the length of the tapes he received back: "he has all day to talk into the machine, so they're really long and rambling." We heard my grandfather, but we weren't required to stay around and listen to the whole thing.
