Thoughts about thoughts.

The human mind is at the same time amazing and mundane.  There is enourmous variety in self-expression available to us.  Yet it is odd and rather sad that when things go wrong they do so in a depressingly familiar fashion.

For example, obsessional symptoms tend to follow the following six themes:

• dirt and contamination
• religion
• orderliness
• aggression
• illness
• sex

I expected there to be more somehow.
