Dick ("Toe Sucker") Morris Goes International
I swear to God, I'm not making this up.
Dick Morris has signed on to be the political consultant to Lea Roberts, a Nevada millionaire Republican who is making a bid to be president of Romania. Read all about it here.
Now for those of you with a short memory, Dick Morris was to Bill Clinton as Karl Rove is to George Bush. Dick got tossed out of the White House because of his foot fetish and predilection for prostitutes. Now I'm not sure whether either trait by itself would have been sufficient to get him canned but both together and, well, he simply had to go.
Chris Lydon did a great interview with Morris back in December. You should really give a listen. Morris made some pretty interesting predictions about how the internet will change future presidential elections.
One thing was obvious from the interview. Morris was salivating to use his political skills on the international stage. At that time I told a couple of friends not to be surprised to see Dick Morris consulting on Putin's next presidential campaign. They told me I was nuts.
Damn, I should have put some money on it. Right race, wrong country.
