A cute article about the origins of the F-word. If you read it closely, though, you will notice near the bottom of the front page that the "Wiki-Pedia" is referenced in the legal brief as a source. An interesting phenomenon, and a first, I think.

What to make of that? Clearly we don't even know who the author of that entry is, let alone whether that entry is accurate, authentic or a joke. When I see a web reference in a high-school essay's footnotes or any article really, it always makes me think about a teen-ager in Uruguay cooking up spoofy articles on who-knows-what. It's scary to see people make reference to web sites as proof of anything.
