The governments of India and Italy have agreed to work together to facilitate scientific collaboration with the European Union, acording to a press release from India's Ministry of Science and Technology. Among the unique aspects mentioned in the release was that the agreement would make use of "virtual networking of scientific research laboratories and academia". The release also stated that "The levels of collaboration in the fields identified are highly advanced in nature. Some of these areas include: aerospace, energy, nano-technologies, information technology, electronics and civil engineering, tele-communications, design engineering and technology, advanced materials and bio-medical science."
