OK, so it's not breaking news, but maybe you haven't seen video of
these guys. Silver carp, one of two species of Asian carp that
got into the Mississippi River back in 1994 when high water flooded
catfish farms in Arkansas, actually jump high enough to land in boats
or knock people out of them.
Tune in to Inside View on Milwaukee Public TV, Thursday, Jan. 29 on
Channel 10 at 6:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 30 at 12:30 a.m. (That's midnight
Thu.) or Sunday, Feb. 1 at 10:30 a.m. You'll see some exciting
video of silver carp jumping into boats, hitting passengers, bouncing
off motors, etc. Then I'll discuss exotic aquatic species with
John Janssen of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Great Lakes WATER
Institute
and John Dettmers of the Illinois Natural History Survey.
