Urban Educ8r: A Wickerblog
This weblog is dedicated primarily to the discussion of Education issues and policies, as well as to chronicling the author's experiences as an inner-city school teacher. These days, the education discussion is too much in the hands of ignorant politicians merely doing what they need to gain re-election, and not enough in the hands of knowledgable professionals with first hand experience.

My principal had an apparent change of heart this week after having said at a faculty meeting two weeks ago that teachers would be limited to 200 copies per month. If you think this sounds bad all by itself, it was accompanied by a mandate to give a 50 multiple-choice-question test every 2 1/2 weeks. This is a high school, mind you, where teachers carry a load of 80 - 100 students. You do the math. She must have regained her senses, because all of a sudden for the month of September we have 1000 copies for the month. We are still required to give the 50 multiple-choice test every 2 1/2 weeks, in every subject area. I'll save that topic for another entry. Good night.
