So it seems the rumours about Villeneuve are true - he will test for Renault this week. Renault, not happy with Trulli's performance and attitude(he has reportedly signed for Toyota for next year and was openly claiming that the team was giving him lesser support) have decided to replace him. It will be either Villeneuve or a current test driver. Renault's motiviation is to try to regain second place in the constructor's championship. From what I understand it means quite a large chunk of money in revenue sharing.
What is Villeneuve's though? Renault have already signed drivers for next year -- Alonso and Fisichella. So a full time racing seat is unlikely (or is it?).
P.S, Someone in a newsgroup pointed out that Villeneuve's motive might be revenge -- forcing BAR into 3rd place. The thot plickens.
