I got a neat little camera gizmo for my birthday -- a mini tripod. The picture shows the folded size with a pen for scale. It is in inexpensive item (not exactly sure what price -- it was a gift after all and checking what people paid for your gift is a little gauche) but it is small enough to fit in my mini camera case and when extended ( the legs telescope) it is perfect for timer pictures and also extended or not for use as a mechanism to steady the camera against something solid when taking pictures in low light with no flash.
I am not sure how it will stand up to use (the attaching mechanism seems a little flimsy) but it is a neat little gizmo.
