Who is James Eade?

 

Born:

1957 in New Haven, Ct.

 

Education:

BA U. of Mass./Amherst, MA U. San Francisco.

 

Chess Player:

 1st tournament 1972.

 USCF Master 1981

 USCF Correspondence Master 1984

 ICCF Correspondence Master 1990

 FIDE Master 1993

 

Chess Tournament Organizer:

Many FIDE futurities and norm tournaments including: 

San Francisco, 1995 won by Korchnoi.

Hall of Fame Invitational Alexandria, Va. 1996, won by Kavalek.

 

Chess Organizations:

Past President of  the Northern California Chess Association, Chess Journalists of America and Kolty Chess for Youth Foundation.  Former Director of the Mechanics Instititute’s chess room.

1996-1999: member of the USCF’s executive board.

2000-2002: member of FIDE’s executive board.

2000-present: trustee on the US Chess Trust.

 

Chess Publishing:

Hypermodern Press (ten books)

Editor/publisher: Golden Gate Chess News and California Chess Journal

 

Chess writing:

Numerous articles in a variety of publications.
