USCF Election
I was pleased to see that Beatriz Marinello received more votes than any one else in the Untited States Chess Federation's election for its executive board. She was the only announced candidate I supported. The executive board elects its own officers, and when they do, I hope they make Beatriz the first female president in the organization's history.
Beatriz is uniquely qualified to be the new face of organized chess in the United States. I can only hope that a majority of the new board members recognize what they have in her.
