Finance Minister Sadakazu Tanigaki told reporters today Japan has halted plans to retaliate against U.S. steel tariffs. The decision comes after U.S. President George W. Bush's decided to lift the steep tariffs imposed last year.
Both Japan and the European Union had threatened retaliation which led the Bush administration to decide not to risk a trade war among three of the world's biggest economies.
