11/3 Saw my wonderful Dr. Ahmad today. I brought him cookies, but he was fasting for Ramadan(sp?), so his sweet nurse whisked them away until sunset.
Despite my diligence of strictly following my doctor's orders, my left eye is badly scratched and my vision is only 20/40. The eye has been bothering me - feeling like sand was in my eye - and even the artificial tears were stinging everytime I used them (every hour). So now I have an antibiotic ointment 2x day and different artificial tears, and I am hopeful that no permanent damage has been done. I guess I was too stoic, but I had no idea what level of discomfort was "normal." Anyway, I will see him again in 3 weeks.
My dear friend, Marcie, drove out from the city where she lives and works, to meet me at Oakbrook for lunch. It made the day fun and we had a great visit. (Some things about having cancer are absolutely delightful!)
More soon as I have a CAT scan on Wednesday and a visit with Dr. Melian.
