Update on C. E. Welch

This note just arrived from Carolyn Baldwin Quinlan:

I ran into Jolene Welch at the store about an hour ago and she said CE was off the respirator and had been for most of the day. He can't speak yet, but is lucid enough to nod his head yes or no to questions. She seemed to be much encouraged by the news. I told her to tell him we are all thinking of him.
