In the beginning... Eve went and messed EVERYTHING up. I mean really, the chick has everything she could ever need and want, and she takes the advice of a snake to eat a stupid piece of fruit. Seriously girls, all I can say when I imagine this story is- WHAT was she thinking? But over the past few weeks, I have been contemplating that maybe this story is simply a beautiful representational of God's incredible creation. I mean, seriously, when we are read first chapter of Genesis, it seems so simple and uncomplicated... For example, Genesis 1:3 "And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. Whoa man. That seems as easy as flipping on a light switch, but anyone who understands solar power, photosynthesis, or even sunburns, knows that "light" is far more complicated than WHOOMP THERE IT IS!! So lets open our minds to the possibility that our (and yes, I am including those scholarly scholars out there) understandings of creation are probably wrong, and women have gotten a seriously bad rep (and some childbearing pain) as a result of a bite into a piece of fruit. So here's my little theory. Adam ('man') was given Eve ('life') to sustain him and keep him happy. After 'man' was given 'life', he chose to 'know good and evil'. Maybe there was a big, juicy piece of fruit that when eaten marked the revolution of the never ending pain and death of man... and maybe it was ALL Eve's fault for taking the first juicy bite. But it does seem to make alot more sense, and put a lot less pressure on 'las mujeras de este mundo' (the women of this world), to think that maybe this 'man' was a group of people making a choice together- that choice being to take control of their life, and take the control out of God's hands... you know, rather than just one female listening to a snake. However, my highly shortened analysis on the creation story is probably wrong as well. I will be anticipating your interpretations on the creation story. Note: Apologies are in order for the 'casper-like appearance' of our notorious Eve. I got the pic from some shady website that scared me away with it's plethora of dancing smileys... for some better images of adam and eve, click here- however, i can not be held responsible for your viewing of nude figures. I mean, comon people, they were adam and eve. Don't click if you think that they're gonna be clothed. 2:49:44 PM ![]() |
La mujer, Femme, Frau, La Donna, Vrouw, A Mulher, Vkinne, Woman. Proud I am to be able to call myself a woman. Thankful I am to be alive and in a country where my gender is not looked down upon, beaten, raped or killed solely because we have a womb. Where I sit I am appreciated, listened to and occasionally even heard. It is amazing to realize how much freedom we women truly have. But before I dig into freedom, justice and hate crimes, definitions are in order. 12:30:56 AM ![]() |
