The Light House We took the girls to the films on the weekend. We went to the Light House. I think that these cinemas are a good portent for the future of film. They are small, intimate and very spacious. They charge a premium and it is worth every cent. They serve superior coffee, wine and very upmarket snacks. They mix perfectly between art house and family. A sort of neighbourhood cinema that leaves you feeling great afterwards, and your now very much lighter wallet certainly helps that spring in your step... The sound system is wonderful. I am told this is how they got their start: The founders apparently sell audio equipment to the cinema industry. They built a small luxury demonstration theatre for their clients. When Upper Hutt's conventional cinema was closed, it was decided to open their demo theatre to the general public. Runaway success followed, and a new branch was soon opened in Lower Hutt. This story might be total hearsay, and very wrong, but a nice founding legend anyway. So those of you not in the Hutt Valley, looking for alternate investment and wealth, get your franchise now! Today Hutt Valley, tomorrow the world! comments? [] 9:46:28 PM ![]() |
