Abstractions An Abstract Application. Artist: Martin Paulo Last night at the dinner table I mentioned that I would very much like to be skilled enough to create abstract paintings. Kylara, my eight year old daughter transfixed me with a stare. "You will need to get a license then," she said. "Oh," said I, very much taken aback. "And just what kind of license do I need?" I asked, with a degree of wonderment in my voice. "You will need an 'Artistic License'!" came the sure response. "Just where would I get such a license?" I asked. "From the Ministry of Art and Culture" said Kylara. I haven't yet been able to work out if she was taking the mickey out me, or just letting me know how life really works. At times the role of a parent can be an interesting one. comments? [] 1:06:22 PM ![]() |
