Wisconsin Governor Vetoes Environmental Self-Audit Bill

Wisconsin Gov. Jim Doyle (D) on Dec. 5 vetoed a bill exempting companies from some environmental enforcement if they perform environmental self-audits. Unlike environmental self-audit laws in many other states, the vetoed bill would not have shielded self-reported violations or most other information from public disclosure.
