National FOI Day Conference Coming March 16 in DC
Interested in access to information? The you can learn the latest developments and meet many leading players on the FOI front at the National Freedom of Information Day Conference, Tuesday, March 16, 2004.
The 6th annual conference will be held at the Freedom Forum office in Arlington, Va., a few subway stops away from downtown Washington, DC. Attendance is free of charge, but advance registration is required. The First Amendment Center and American Library Association sponsor it jointly. Attendees will include access advocates, government officials, lawyers, librarians, journalists, educators and others. The agenda has not been finalized, but topics will include access cases currently before the Supreme Court; HIPAA, electronic court records; and updates on legislation and judicial decisions. Last year's program is still online.
