Scorching Weekend and MX4J

Man, what a weekend. Adelaide experienced it's hottest every February day on Saturday, with the mercury climbing to 44.3 degrees celcius (~112f), with hot gusty winds to boot. Just the sort of day which gives you the perfect excuse to sit inside on the couch with all the curtains drawn and do absolutely nothing!

Now I could claim that my day of sheer nothing-ness led me to a fantastic discovery about OC4J and MX4J ... but I'd be stretching the truth there and even a BLOG style artistic license won't let you do that ... ;-)

One of our developers recently showed me that the OC4J 10g (10.0.3) Developer Preview we have on OTN can run with the open source MX4J JMX implementation instead of the one we ship by default. We've done no testing with it, and we don't have an official policy on whether this "pluggability" will be something we would support in a production release -- however if you are interested in seeing how it works (and it's simple) then have a look at Running OC4J with MX4J.
