I still haven't received my new Toshiba Portege M200 Tablet PC.

A week and a half ago, they said it would ship on the 19th. On the 20th when it hadn't shipped, I called and they  (well, actually "he," and he was prettty arrogant about the whole thing) said it would ship on the 22nd. Their web site says it still hasn't shipped. Since they don't put estimated ship date on their web site like any decent computer company with long lead times that wated to take care of its customers, I have to call their customer service line. Unfortunately, their customer service line is only open until 9pm Eastern time. Which really sucks for those of us on the West Coast who work during the day. And so I couldn't call tonight and get an update on when it's really going to arrive. Though at this point I doubt I'll believe them until it actually ships and they give me a FedEx number to track it.

I am beginning to seriously regret my choice of Tablet PC vendor. This had better be one damn sweet machine for all the pain they are putting me through to get it. I am definitely not feeling the love here.

I ordered some accessories at the same time. Those shipped within 24 hours and have been sitting in a box here. Oh, and of course they already charged my credit card for the accessories despite ther curent uselessness. Nice touch.

I finished Life of Pi last night.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and stayed up too many nights reading it. It was not at all what I had expected. A very refreshing first-person account of a very smart and spiritual fifteen-year-old boy's trial at sea.

Highly recommended.
