This is my home page in IE.
As a research geeky kind of guy, I of course am into cool visualizations. This is a form of treemap view. (the women and men at the HCI Lab at University of Maryland do fantastic work, in my opinion)
And since in general I'm a news junkie, I love checking it out several times a day, just to see what's hot in the world. It's a little biased because of the news feeds available to it (they aren't necessarily representative of mass media publications) but it's still super interesting.
The UI needs a bit of work. I like the use of thumbnails when you hover, which almost compensates for the completely unreadable small print or truncated headlines. Other people have solved those problems before; they could easily make it better. But it's usable enough to make it fun, enjoyable and useful in its current form.
