HP quietly begins Web log experiment. Hewlett-Packard has become the latest IT vendor to dip its toes in the wild world of Web logging, or blogging. [InfoWorld: Top News]

Here's an article from InfoWorld about HP starting blogs as a way for specific constituencies to communicate. Blogs are inherently two-way vehicles (or maybe many-way?). Given the amount of spam, phishing, and so on in e-mail these days, perhaps this is a better way for departments or customers/suppliers or developer communities to communicate.

My Weblog provider counts hit to the blog, but doesn't give any other information. So I know that a lot of people hit this. As Automation World develops a new Web site over the next several months, we'll have the capability to add Weblog and RSS technology. I'm interested in feedback on whether any of you think that blogs can be a good communication device. How are you using them now (if you are)? How would you use them? Is it a good way to get continuing information from sources like AW?
