Jim Pinto has started podcasting (maybe). The maybe comment is because he's soliciting feedback on whether you like, would listen to it or what you'd like to change. Right now this is mp3 but not syndicated. Download the file and listen on your computer or drag into iTunes and download to your iPod. I listened to it Wednesday while on the el in Chicago going downtown to the office. Thought it went well.

Microsoft and IBM toe to toe. You could also say that this battle is over the potential of the Internet. But hold on a second. How viable is the Internet? In this article by CNet's Molly Wood, she speculates about the breakdown that could happen with the Internet. Sounds just like AOL to me. I was on AOL before the Web took off. It wanted to capture you and keep you just on its site. Actually, still does today. When the Web started to take off, I was extremely frustrated not to be able to go from AOL to the Web. So I shortly thereafter ditched AOL.

So, can we see a scenario when IBM gets you into its hosted Web services program, then sells you a private "internet" to remain hooked up? It becomes a utility as well as software and service provider? There are companies trying to establish hosted Web Services for industrial applications. The service relies on the stability of the Internet. Is this a viable assumption? What do you think?
