I was in meetings all day yesterday as the entire Automation World staff gathered for some brainstorming and planning. Meanwhile not a lot of news coming in on a slow mid-summer week.

GE Fanuc Automation announced a new OEM program. I'm fishing for more details (hard to interview people while you're supposed to be listening to a meeting), but it consists of two "solutions" called InsideEdge and EdgeEnabled along with a tool set called EdgeTools. There was no definition of what the two "solutions" were, but the EdgeTools consist of Proficy iFix HMI/SCADA software, Profice Cimplicity HMI/SCADA software, Proficy Machine Edition and Proficy Historian. OEMs who sign up for the program are eligible for both product and marketing support.
