So tell me, how did this guy spend his final months on the job--running the company or negotiating his exit pay? Despite his illustrious credentials from GE, Nardelli's lack of team building (among other things) appeared to do him in. Why do boards seem to be so powerless as to tell a forceful person "You failed, you cost us money, we'll pay you a reasonable severance (six months or so), and get out of here"? One after another they just cave.
