I'm getting more partnering news. In this release, Rockwell Automation announced a global agreement with ProLeiT AG of Herzogenaurach, Germany that will allow ProLeiT to more tightly integrate its Plant iT production control and data acquisition product with the Rockwell Logix Control Platform. Targeted applications include brewing, dairy and related industries. The companies state that this agreement will provide users with faster startup and commissioning of applications. ProLeiT will also utilize FactoryTalk VantagePoint (formerly Incuity) manufacturing intelligence software.

There's a new Emerson Blog -- Emerson Global Life Sciences Blog.
If you're not on Twitter yet, there's quite an automation conversation going on. You can "follow" me here. There are many twitterers from Emerson Process Management, National Instruments, some from Opto 22. Igus just started. A couple of people from Control. Marketing gurus, Shari Worthington and Juliann Grant, Siemens PLM, and someone from Schneider Electric. If you visit my home page, you can check them all out, plus an eclectic bunch including media people Rex Hammock and Jay Rosen and a number of soccer people.
I've been a little off the grid doing a lot of interviews and catching up from my Florida trip. Thursday I'm heading overseas on holiday. There will be few posts from Mar. 6 through 16. I will be visiting Israel and Egypt in my first full vacation in about 18 months. My wife will allow me short bursts of time on the Internet. Much of that time will be posting pictures of the trip on my Flickr account. (OK, are you just about over the top on social media? And I'm not really a social guy!)
