My last visit of the week was to Fuji Electric Corp. of America, where we met with Andy Urda who has just joined the company and started this week. He was previously with Yaskawa. We also met with Koji Hiruta who is president of the American operation. It was a timely visit as they had just finished writing a press release, so here is a first look:
As of April 1, the warranty period for component general purpose AC drives and commercial packaged energy-saving drives has been extended to three years. "The decision to extend the warranty was based upon high performance and long-life due to Fuji Electric superior quality, manufacture and Fuji Electric's own IGBT (insulated gate bipolar transistor - the electronic heart of a drive) power components." We were told that many other drive manufacturers use Fuji's IGBTs.
The extended warranty policy guarantees repair or replacement of parts for the warranty period. Products covered are the Frenic-Mini, Frenic-Multi, Frenic-Eco, Frenic5000G11, Frenic5000P11 and EcoPAK for a three year period from the shipment date.
By the way, this post is my 2000th over 5-1/2 years of blogging.
