Oracle announced the availability of Oracle Application Server Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB) 3.0 Preview. The EJB 3.0 Preview is a comprehensive implementation of EJB 3.0 specification. Also includes a features such as testability of EJBs outside of the container and demonstrating compatibility, interoperability and migration issues between EJB 2.1 to EJB 3.0 The EJB 3.0 Preview is free for download at otn.oracle.com/ejb3

 

Here are some highlights of this preview release:

 

  • Comprehensive implementation of EJB 3.0 Early Release Draft2 specification
  • Comprehensive demos, collaterals and Javadocs of APIs
  • Testability of EJBs outside container
  • Use of Entity manager API from web module
  • Interoperability and compatibility between EJB 2.x and EJB 3.0
  • EJB 3.0 Session Beans and MDBs support with JDK 1.4 using XML descriptors
