More than you'll ever want to know about TP. [posted by Troy] One of the smartest people I know markets toilet paper. He famously said to me, "There are more people thinkin' hard bout toilet paper right now than u can imagine." This is a sad statement about the reality of capitalism. Within the next few days, I've got a thing or two for you to consider the next time you wipe. Check back for more info...

Budget Deficit? What Budget Deficit? [posted by Troy] Hear about the corporate tax cut? It seems that the Senate doesn't think that the country needs this $136 billion to operate. Don't worry, the states will cover the costs. Anyway, whether you think this idiodic piece of legislation was idiotic or not, you can check here to see if your senator voted for it or against it.

A "Living Story" or Modern Art? [Posted by Kim]
I had an interesting conversation with a co-worker of mine today regarding Author Shelley Jackson's work of fiction called Skin. Not only is the story itself her work of art but she has created a society of people who become the story, literally! The local library is nowhere to go if you're looking to read Skin; In order to get a copy of her story you need to give Skin, to a peice of the story that is. Shelley will send those interested in reading her story a word from it that they intern will tatoo somewhere on their bodies, only then do they receive Skin to read, for themselves only. She then refers to the tatoo owners as the words themself rather than who they are. Her plan is to create a living work of fiction that changes as life changes with the death of each "word" and eventually the story itself will completely die away.
