iWoodKiosk

iwood.jpgThe iWoodKiosk by Tactus Multimedia is, well, just that¡Xan indoor, interactive terminal that's made out of wood. (And if the literature's to be trusted, most decidedly not a witch.) With a website and catalog that prominently features close up, lacquer-coated shots of what can only be described as wood porn, the finished piece looks great and would be a sight for sore eyes at any convention or trade show. It features an in-built G5 but can be purchased separately, if the muse moves you. Weighing in at 155 pounds and just about 5 feet tall, it's a perfectly elegant solution for hotels, museums, banks and the like. No word on pricing or availability, but I'm sure they'll be available soon if they're not already.

TouchDIC DS Software

ds_touchdic.jpgIt's taken a lot of conditioning to move towards the back of our collective consciousness all the less-than-respectable avenues a game console with a touch-screen interface could afford us. So we (and brother site Kotaku) believe a quick word of thanks is deserved to the Korean company who's producing Touch-DIC¡Xa Korean dictionary, we note with some great irony. The finger truly sells it for us. Oh, how the touch-possibilities are flooding back to us.

HP Introduces Line of TVs

HP_mr4000n.jpgHP has just announced a set of televisions including Pavilion branded plasmas and LCDs. And how about this:

HD Digital Entertainment Center z550 series

The new HP z555 and z557 High-definition Digital Entertainment Center series include three tuners: One ATSC OTA high-definition TV tuner for the ability to pause, play and record HD over-the-air programming and two NTSC tuners for recording two standard definition shows simultaneously. The z555 model comes with a 250 GB 7,200 rpm Serial ATA hard drive, and the z557 model comes with two 300 GB hard drives, one being a personal media drive to deliver over half a terabyte of combined storage.

That's a heady piece of media center goodness, eh?
