I am waiting on a ride to the Kerry demonstration. So I might as well try to make a post here. I know I have got to get in the habit of updating this thing more often.
I am really keeping busy posting to other lists though. There has been a lot of discussion on the lpnc executive committee list and the regular lpncyahoogroup list.
One of the big issues before the excom has been invovled with the media buy sub committee which I am part of. We have determined to spend $2,000 on radio ads in the Wilmington and Fayettville areas. This is the first major media buy for the State Party this season.
The ads will be focused on the forced annexation issue. This has been a big deal in the Fayetteville area where the biggest annexation in the state has just taken place against stiff local opposition.
Airing ads so early in the season is a new tactic for the party. I am glad to see it. The usual practice has been to wait till the week before the general election on the theory that most swing voters make up their minds in the last week. The idea is that since we do not have the money to maintain a long media campaign we should wait till the last minute so people don't forget us.
