I am pleased to say there will be a libertarian ad in the local weekly coming out in the July 22 edition. There will be an eighth of a page ad in the Rhinoceros Times featuring part of the preamble of the LPNC platform and the penguin logo with the web address of the LPNC.
This is a generic ad and purposely so as it keeps it fropm falling under the campaign reporting act. Don't you just hate paperwork? It mentions no candidates and does not ask for votes so it is just educational and it falls outside the 90 day campaign window as well.
I do believe if people follow the link and read our platform many will find it very reasonable.
In the meantime the Durham Herald Sun printed an article based on an LPNC press release about a Durham Police Department gun buy back program. Here is a link to the article if it still works.

I was particularly disturbed at the Durham PD quote about having siezed 753 guns in 2003 but only 28 of them being reported as having been stolen. That means the Durham PD took 725 guns from their rightful owners in a single year. And people think we have a second amendment that prevents gun confiscation.
