A great new Tablet PC experience pack has been released by Microsoft.  For those not familiar with Redmond-eze, an experience pack is a set of add-ons that improve the "experience" of using something, in this case Tablet PC. For those of you who actually needed me to write that explanation .. "DUH!!".

The pack includes a new version of art rage, the energy blue tablet theme, the ink crossword puzzle power toy, ink desktop (which I'm sure had absolutely nothing to do with all the whinging muppets out there going "Waaaahhh, why can't I ink anywhere any more...waaaaah, waaaah" -- STFU), media transfer tool (which is really bloody handy since it lets you save media stuff and the video at channel9.msdn.com doesn't have a save option), and the snipping tool powertoy.

Well worth a look, and as I hinted at above, check out the Channel 9 video on the front page (currently) at channel9.msdn.com

Update: Actually the media tool doesn't let you save streaming media, but instead lets you copy files from your desktop PC if you have Media Connect (a component of media player) installed. What bloody use is that?

Update 2: The snipping tool looks like a cool idea - draw anywhere on the screen and the bit you circle along with any annotations you write are captured and saved. The practice though isn't. You go to save it, choose the format and no matter what you do it dumps the file to disk in some weird arcane format that absolutely nothing can open. So, my "Tablet Experience" from the Experience pack so far is not good!
