Delays
I know that no renovation goes along as smoothly as one might hope. But they've hit a bit of a snag with the electrical work. Apparently when they opened up the walls the wiring was a wild mess....nothing unsafe, but just no logic in terms of where anything went. So it's taking much longer than they thought it would to finish the electrical. I'm hoping they'll be done by tomorrow, but I said that a few days ago, didn't I?
Then it seems the plumber did something he shouldn't have when he was here yesterday, because when I took a bath last night water started running down into the kitchen. So we're having to wait until the plumber can come back to deal with that problem. However these are just small things in the grand scheme of things. The kids are getting stressed though...this is exam week and it's been next to impossible for Alan and Iris to study with all the commotion here. They've been hiding out in our bedroom.....just about the only sanctuary left and the temporary headquarters for the computer.
The fun part was that I got to choose all the colours for the walls yesterday.....lots of muted warm shades of yellows and deep apricots, plus some blue/greens as contrast.
