Made It Well, it wasn't the best day in the world. But it wasn't the worst either. Trying to photoshoot 14 eight-year olds and do a plant tour at the same time proved to be quite a challenge. The photographer thinks we got some good stuff though, so that's encouraging. I'm looking for a special shot for the cover of our annual report.
Long Distance Friendships I was reminded today that almost all my close friends live far away from me. After the crazy kind of week I had, it made me think about how I sometimes allow myself to get so busy that I don't always pay my friends the attention I should. Emails quickly sent without careful forethought can be easily misunderstood, and not being there to quickly clarify poorly chosen words can allow hurt or angry feelings to fester. Anyway, I just wanted to say to you guys that I love you dearly and I can't imagine what life would be like without you around...even if only from a distance.

Nuts! It's been absolutely insane at work this week. For one thing, school field trip season has kicked in, so we are having lots of classes come for tours of our facility (something I'm responsible for). It's also 'report' season...annual reports, environmental reports, etc. I'm the one who writes all that stuff, finds photos, works with the designer, etc. And, the fishladder is getting ready to open, and that's taking a lot of my time. On top of this, today I have a photo shoot. I enjoy doing all this stuff, but I could do with a bit more breathing space.
