On the Hunt - Part 2 It's just before noon on a cold drizzly Yukon day. I need some fresh air, so come with me and we'll take a walk along the trail that runs on either side of the Yukon River near my workplace.
Normally by now, we'd be surrounded by the fresh green of new leaves. As you can see, the buds are barely showing themselves. And the ground looks as dead as if it were a snowless day in March.

And look here...on a good year we'd have rose buds forming by now. Not this spring.

This is depressing.
Still no sign of wildflowers.
Wait a minute. Here's a bench, dedicated to someone's loved one. Obviously they were cherished, because a caring soul has left flowers here. This wilted bouquet isn't exactly what I'm looking for, but it's the closest thing I've found to floral beauty so far.

Let's just walk a bit more. I'm an eternal optimistic you know, and I really think there must be a flower somewhere along here waiting to be noticed and appreciated.
Look!!!!

And here's more!

Now I can return to my office a happy girl. Thanks for the company.
