Antioxidants in the Spotlight
Natural enzyme helps mice live longer in study
Scientists and researchers at a major medical school are claiming to have evidence now of what we have known all along - free radicals cause cell damage and accelerate the effects of ageing, and antioxidants reduce the damaging effects of free radicals. It is a complicated subject - too complicated to explain fully here - and Dr. Myatt has a very detailed and understandable discussion on this topic here: Antioxidants
The long and the short of it really is that we all need to be minimizing our exposure to things that cause free radicals, maximizing our body abilities to manufacture "native" antioxidants, and supplementing with additional antioxidants by way of diet, nutritional supplements, and herbs to ensure protection from free radical damage. Wellness Club offers a number of products that provide additional antioxidants, the two most highly recommended are our Maxi Multi and our Maxi Greens formulas. These two supplements should form the foundation for any health maintenance, health improvement, and longevity program. The scientists are just telling us what we already know - antioxidants help mice and men live longer!
Cheers, Nurse Mark
