Visual Studio 2005 Ships!. . .
http://blogs.msdn.com/jasonz/default.aspx
In early August Wired Magazine singled me out, along with 5 other people, as a corporate shill for Microsoft. As I blogged and podcasted about at the time, a shill is someone who hides his or her association with a person or group yet waxes enthusiastically about them in order to trick other people into supporting the group or person. I've never made any secret that I work for Microsoft and this podcast is strictly my own opinion.
Now, having said all that, a product on which I've been working, as an evangelist, Visual Studio 2005, was release to manufacturing (or RTM'ed as we say at Microsoft) today. This is the result of thousands of people over 5 years building a better tool for developing software. I'm proud that I was able to contribute, even in a small way, to the success of this product and I congratulate all the developers who built it.
If you have an MSDN subscription you can get the bits today. If you don't, you'll have to wait until the official launch event a week from Monday, November 7th.
